​Banjo player Barry Hartman leads the Big South Fork Band which plays an interesting mix of traditional bluegrass classics, contemporary favorites and several of Barry's own original songs and instrumentals.

Through the years, many local musicians have been a part of what was called "Barry's Basement Band." The current members of Hartstrings are Barry Hartman on banjo, Joe Parker on bass, Bill Bellan on guitar, Dave Hansen on guitar, and Doug Johnstone on mandolin. Everyone sings, so there is a nice harmonic blend and a variety of lead vocals.
